Here are some addresses tested during my week-end in Poitiers with my opinion which is of course entirely subjective. The idea, when my friends and I go away for a weekend in provinces is enjoying delicious meal at lower prices compared to in Paris.
Aux bons enfants Traditional french food
Meal: It was good, not delicious. It was no great claim but again, it was good! Good and hearty. If you take the formula with starter, main course, cheese and dessert, you’ll quickly KO even for a big eater like me! The bread is made on site, brought back from a double basket, it is served hot! Hmmm! The choice of dishes is great, especially in desserts whose specialty seems to be crumble with all flavors imaginable! A treat for the taste buds and a disaster for the line!
Price: Very reasonable when you come from Paris. The formula complete with starter + dish + cheese + dessert is € 24 if I remember correctly and it’s worth it. I made a special menu with duck in starter and main dish and I had no extra charge!
Setting: The restaurant is cozy, decoration fits perfectly in the name of the restaurant. Special efforts have been made in the preparation of the menus which are all different! The tables were decorated with fresh cut flowers and water was served in a decanter personalized.
Service: Nothing to fault. The hostess was alone, taking orders and serving and waiting time was quite reasonable. She was very friendly and smiling.
Conclusion: restaurant recommended if you’re in the neighborhood!

La piscine – Restaurant de l’Hotel Alteora Futuroscope Traditional French food
Meal : Not bad at all. We were tired after our day at the park and we did not want to go far in search of a restaurant and we chose to test the hotel’s restaurant. We were a bit scared but in the end we were pretty good surprises. Well, and so hearty that we had more room for dessert!
Place: design and traditional, next to the pool
Service: The wait was incredibly long! The servers not well…
Conclusion: This was okay but I don’t advise unless there is a lack of motivation to find better elsewhere.
