Today, I’m talking about Notre Dame de la Garde. If you took a look at the previous article dedicated on Marseille and its old port, you must have seen the Basilica overlooking Marseille over 150m since the fourteenth century. At this height, the view is magnificent!
For the brave, you can reach Notre-Dame de la Garde by foot but for doing so I can tell you that we must be really in a good shape! The slopes are really difficult and it’s better to be equipped with good shoes and something to drink! Otherwise, you can get there by car and there are some parking lot around the basilica. For others, the bus number 60 which starts from the Old Port will take you to Notre Dame de la Garde. Otherwise, there is also a small tourist train.
We arrived at the site a little late so we could not visit the Basilica as we wanted but we still managed to take a few shots here and there.
