I like to go to restaurant and discover new addresses but they are mostly French restaurants. I recently told you about a Tibetan restaurant but I must admit most of the restaurants that I tested miss exotic. So this time I made you travel with me to South America via a Colombian restaurant in the 9th district of Paris, close to the Metro St. Ambrose.
Bochica Restaurante – Cuisine colombienne
Taste of the meal On the menu, there are a dozen of starters and a dozen of main courses. There are names of dishes from elsewhere but with details in French to see what we have. I chose the meat as starter and fish for the main course. Scatterbrain that I am, I unfortunately forgot to take notes and I can not give you back the name of dishes that I took … But as a starter, I had an assortment of pork. It was very good but very fat and strangely it looked a lot like meals that I eat at home (I mean from my mom) like fried sausage. I tasted the enchiladas kind of my friend who was also very good and also very fat with all that grilled cheese.
For the main course, it was more soft as I took the fried fish in mango sauce with its coconut rice. It was a true delight!
I loved it! With my girlfriends, we eat enough but we still wanted to try the desserts. So we shared two desserts. We chose a first dessert visually very strange and very sweet : pineapple outbreak, fresh grated coconut and caramel bed. Very good but again very very sweet! I wonder who can eat it alone! And the second dessert was a mango mousse. I think the mousse was homemade but frozen. At the bottom of the jar, the mousse was crystallized. That said, it very good and mango mixed with mint was surprisingly good!
Setting Through the door, you are surprised by the explosion of colors. There are paintings on the walls, hanging hammock, and the wooden tables are all painted with bright colors and with different patterns and all the serviettes watched with the decor. Very original and exotic!
Service We wondered if the server was not also in the kitchen … It was a bit long but perfect for an evening chatting with friends.
Price With my friends, we booked again via LaFourchette.com and we had an offer 30% off. What is interesting here is that there is no minimum of order and that the restaurant takes tickets restaurant in the evening which is not the case everywhere in Paris. For 3 people, with 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts the bill was just under € 58 which is quite reasonable.
