Trellis stitch is my new farouvite pattern. Last week, I talked about it when I showed my gauge with Maille namie is Yvette yarn. As the plaid I’m knitting is not transportable, I wanted to start a new knit project, easier to travel with. I’m using again the treillis stitch but with a thiner yarn.

Details of the gauge

Brand: Drops
Quality: Air

Needles: 6 mm

How to knit Treillis stitch

For this pattern you must cast on a number of stitches multiple of 4 + 3 stitches.

Row 0 (wrong side): 1 edge stitch, purl all stitches until there is 1 stitch left and finish by knit 1.

Row 1: 1 edge stitch, *knit 1, with yarn in front, slip 5 sticthes as if you wanted to purl them*, repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left and finish by knitting 2.

Row 2 et all even rows: 1 edge stitch, purl all stitches until there is 1 stitch left and finish by knit 1.

Row 3: 1 edge stitch, knit 3, *pass under the loose strand and knit 1, knit 5*, repeat from * to * until there are 5 stitches left and finish by passing under the loose strand and knit 1 and knit 4.

Row 5: 1 edge stitch, with yarn in front, slip 3 sticthes as if you wanted to purl them, knit 1, *with yarn in front, slip 5 sticthes as if you wanted to purl them, knit 1*, repeat from * to * until there are 4 stitches left and finish with yarn in front and slip 3 sticthes as if you wanted to purl them and knit 1.

Row 7: 1 edge stitch, *pass under the loose strand and knit 1, knit 5*, repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left and finish by passing under the loose strand and knit 1 and knit 1.

Repeat rows 1 to 8.

My opinion on Drops Air

As I said last time with the gauge in plain knitting, I love Drops Air it’s very enjoyable to knit it and it’s quick to knit as it is recommended to knit with 5 mm needles. Here I used 6 mm needle but the result is still nice.
