1 year ago, I bought a kit Bergère de France to do baby booties. A couple of friends expecting a happy event and I told myself it was time to move forward the next level for knitting and make things a little more sought than scarves or snoods. I took my courage in both hands but as I was not gifted / satisfied with the result: I knitted the first time and undid. Then I knitted a second time to undo again. And I finally knitted a third time without convincing results so I undid again and I gave up. The months passed and then I met Charlov who introduced me to knit aperitifs and encouraged me to go back into miniature works. There is a month we got a drink-knit in small committee during which she showed me how to proceed for the slippers I wanted to do and I initiated her to the crochet.
Result, after this little course I was super motivated. Well, I still have to resume twice to make the first slipper but I was super proud of myself! The small problem is that it seems that I knitted these slippers a little tighter than the sample I had done the previous year. Following the pattern for slippers for a 3 month old baby, I did slippers for newborn. The conclusion of this is that if we say that the sample stage is very important that this is true!
For information, the model is from the book « Chaussons de bébé , 50 modèles à tricoter » Editions Marie Claire that comes with 3 balls of wool with a beige / brown color I used here for these slippers made in garter stitch. I bought the tape with little dots and buttons in my favorite haberdashery: Fil 2000 located at 65 Rue Reaumur Paris 2nd arrondissement. This is a tiny haberdashery but full of treasures at low prices. The shop is so narrow that it is better to come in with a list of what you want because you can not really hanging around like at Tissus Reine for example.
Another couple of friends expecting a little girl at the end of this summer and really motivated! I started a new knitting project for baby! Well, I did not choose the easy because besides the fact that it is a model with decreases, increases, etc., I pick up the yarn into my stock and the one I chose is smaller than the one used in the pattern… I speak to you soon, I promise!
