On February 27, I wanted to have diner with my Lover. French cuisine in a nice setting but without fuss. And for that, I chose to go back to 1979 in the district of Les Halles in Paris.
1979 – French food
Taste of the meal If I had been quite satisfied on my first visit, I am a bit less with this 2nd test. I ordered the fois gras as starter and unfortunately I didn’t find it very fresh. My man has meanwhile loved his eggplant cannelloni. For the main course, I chose the lamb chops and unfortunately they bathed in fat. The burger that my Man ordered was not exceptional. By cons I have no objection to the Tiramisu which was very good.
Settings 1979 is a a restaurant and has a room in the basement for afters and other parties. That evening, we saw youngs for a student party. Unfortunately, we could hear the music of the party AND the background music of the dining room. Otherwise, in the evening, the atmosphere of the restaurant is quite cozy with the ultra soft lighting and candles on table.
Service We were quickly served for the starters and actually I was a little pressed to finish my foie gras because they brought us our main courses even before I finished the starter… Otherwise, the waiter who served us was friendly and attentive.
Price Thanks to the website La Fourchette, we had a discount -40% off. It cost € 54 for 2 appetizers, 2 starters, 2 main courses and one dessert that’s not pretty bad. Without the offer, the address would be expensive for what they offer.
