A few days ago I told you about my evening at Théo-Théâtre with a friend of mine but I have not told you everything because before going to the theater, we had dinner a few streets away in a restaurant we was unknown.
Bistrot 121 – French food
Taste oft he meal The menu is not large, but it’s better, then we can expect fresh. As a starter, I ordered the fried prawns, lentils with hazelnut oil, dried duck, mango vinaigrette. It was good but poor 3 crustaceans on my plate looked more like shrimp as prawns. For the main course, I ordered the same thing as my friend the skewer of duck accompanied eggplant and honey sauce. There I was rather disappointed. The duck was nothing exceptional and eggplant a little bitter. The only plus for me was the sauce. For dessert, we shared the « crispy Gariguette strawberries with pistachio cream with lemon syrup. With a rather neat presentation, dessert was rather interesting. Seemed fresh strawberries, pistachio cream was so green and thick it looked like guacamole.
Settings The bistro spirit is there but in a rather chic version, and also the population of the area was there (posh).
Service It was long: we had a little over 1:30 for dinner and we had to claim the dessert 2 times to not be late. In addition, one of the servers had a heavy humor and frankly I suspected him to chat up my friend.
Price It costs € 29.5 for starter + main course or main course + dessert and € 35.5 for a complete dinner. Personally I find it a bit expensive for the quality of food and the quantities because there were not exceptional. Fortunately we had an offer -50% off and we paid only 29.5 € for 2.
