You may guess it through the blog and especially through my photos, I love kawaii stuff. There is an event which, even if it is not categorized as well, gather a lot of funny and cute things : JapanExpo. For those who do not know, it is a convention dedicated to pop culture, video games and of all kinds of geek stuff. And this year, the event was coupled with Comic Con too. It was during those few days of the convention that docks ok the RER B are invaded by cosplayers who flock to Villepintes convention center. Personally, I don’t use to go since I went there rarely . I’m not a fanatic of the genre since I do not watch anime, do not read manga and rarely play video games (even though I love it). And yet, when my man asked me to go, I thought why not although I hesitated because of the prohibitive price: 17 € / entry for Saturday! The main attraction for me is still the crowd of cosplayers. In an alley you can meet a Stormtrooper and visit another one and come face to face with a character in Game of Thrones that discusses with Luffy. The costumes and makeup are often homemade and sometimes really well done!
Otherwise, why go to JapanExpo? You can find and try new video games: I tested the new Luigi game on Wii U, you can play retrogames like Packman or Bomberman, you can buy many things too cute, plush, figurines and other accessories in of characters from video games, Japanese animation, DVDs, manga ; clothing, discover the foods from elsewhere and even Japanese culture in general.
I think I’m wiser with time since I came back almost empty-handed, I have just bought a few pairs of socks too cute.
